Industry Institution Interaction Cell

SJCE has established Industry Institution Interaction Cell. Some of the major activities of this cell are:

i) Arranging periodical visits of students and faculty to industries

ii) Identifying certain projects of common interest and implementing the same as a joint    project user infrastructure and expertise available at the College and Industry

iii) Placement of teaching faculty for training in industries

iv) Inviting experts from Industry to Institution for sharing their knowledge as adjunct faculty

v) To bring together the faculty and industrialists by arranging periodic meets

vi) Placement of students in Industries to complete their project work

vii) Organizing seminars/ workshops on emerging areas of science and technology

viii) Revision of curriculum periodically, in co-ordination with industrial personnel, to suit to the chief requirements of the user system

ix) Selective dissemination of information to industries on the basis of their needs, etc. The cell is assisting the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India. A quarterly meet is being organized regularly to bring together the faculty and the experts from industries

Some of the joint projects identified are:

i) A joint project for the TOP/IP (Ethernet) to Netware (Novell Net) Gateway with Tata Unisys Limited, Bangalore and the Department of Computer Science, SJCE

ii) Joint project on optimal layout design as applied to sheet metal cutting with Messrs. Bharath Earth Movers Limited, Mysore and the Department of Computer Science, SJCE etc.

Several adjunct and expert faculty from various industries and research institutions are invited to teach at the College. Some of the faculty of the College has undergone training in industries such as HAL, HCL, etc., in emerging areas of technology
