Electronics Service Centre
The Electronics Service Centre of the department of E&C is equipped with instruments and tools supported by qualified and trained personnel to service electrical and electronics instruments and equipment. The clientele mainly includes engineering colleges, polytechnics and Industrial Training Institute in Mysore and neighbouring districts besides industries in and around Mysore. The mobile service van caters for on-site servicing requirements. The centre is supported with modern soldering and reworking facilities and imported instruments besides well stocked component inventory and competent personnel.
Service Centre Programmes include participation in innovative development projects such as:
- Installation of Safety Electronic Safety Mechanism at GRS Fantasy Park, Mysore
- Maintenance of sophisticated thyristor controlled light and sound system at State Owned Kalamandira with 1200 seating capacity
- Provide technical support to student project work
- Assist in development and demonstration of working electronic models in science exhibitions
- Conducted special practical courses in Polytechnics and ITI on Advanced Devices used in Industrial Application
- Conducted special practical courses in Polytechnics and ITI on Air-conditioning and Refrigeration
- Gave technical support to the Servicing Course at JSS Women's Polytechnic in Mysore and at Government Polytechnic, Kurai, Madhya Pradesh
- Course on Servicing and Maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment held regularly
- Development and supply of 100 electronic eye attachments to assist visually challenged persons
- Design and development of medical models with electronic displays
- Evaluators for setting disputes related to electrical and
electronic items in the Consumer Court of Mysore District, Government of Karnataka. Five cases were referred to the centre in the last two years and have been disposed off to the satisfaction of customers and suppliers
- Impart training under the apprenticeship act
